How do I feel about Facebook’s latest change?
Facebook has just announced a change to their sidebar which, while seemingly innocuous, has caused much controversy amongst the blogging community.
Under the new system, posts from Facebook Pages will now appear in the left-hand column of Facebook’s homepage, rather than in the sidebar. This change has caused many bloggers to lament the loss of space in which to showcase their work, and to question the wisdom of Facebook’s motives.
Personally, I’m not too worried. I see this as an opportunity to increase my visibility as a professional blogger, by showcasing all of the work that I’ve been doing on my personal blog. I believe that this will help me to attract new readers, and to further establish my authority in the blogging community.
