Waiting on a call can be frustrating, especially if you are waiting for a long time.
If you have ever received a call and seen the notification that the call is waiting, then you have experienced call waiting. Call waiting is a feature that allows you to receive calls while you are on another call. When the other call is completed, the call waiting notification will appear and you will be able to continue the conversation with the new caller.
But what does that actually mean?
When you say someone is “waiting on you,” it means that they are patiently waiting for you to finish something. Most often, people use this term when they are waiting for you at a restaurant, or if you are waiting for someone to call you back.
When you receive a call while you’re already on another call,
It means that the person on the other line is currently waiting for somebody else to finish their call.
your phone will usually give you the option to either answer the new call or ignore it.
When you get a call, your phone will usually give you the option to either answer the new call or ignore it. If you choose to ignore the call, the new caller will be put on hold and your phone will continue to ring until you answer the call. If you choose to answer the call, the call will be connected and the person on the other end will be able to hear you.
If you choose to answer, the first call will be placed on hold.
When you answer the first call, you are “waiting” for the next call. The next call will be placed on hold if the first call is not answered in a timely manner. If the first call is answered and the person on the other end hangs up, the wait for the next call will resume.
If you ignore the new call, the caller will usually hear a message saying that you’re already on another call.
As soon as you answer a call, the system marks it as being in the “waiting” state. This means that, unless you explicitly cancel the call, the other party will be able to hear and talk to you until you either finish the current call or hang up.
Waiting on call means that someone is currently on a telephone call and is not available to answer any other questions.
